Sir,
if you've had progressive droop over time, then a DIY hand retightening will stiffen you up, see bible for details.
If you have had a rapid loss of angle, say around or below the mulll of kintyre, then more professional input may be required, as there is a sacrificial element in the unit that will snap on contact with supermarket trolleys or fat makky d'd chavs squeezing past your car in car parks.
I suffered from rapid loss of performance and found I had the latter.
After some professional help all is now well. As a bonus, those nice anonymous people on t'internet keep sending me droop-related emails.
Isn't it surprising how many people know about chimaeras.

Miss Daisy is parked on the road so in self preservation I have to turn the wing mirrors in.
Its only the drivers side that has come loose.
Hopefully Shane will come to my rescue when she goes in for a checkup. For now I can live with seeing the tires and roads dissapearing at great speeds behind me.

I have to say I played with mine for quiet some time hoping to get it to go stiff again, but to no avail......
In the end the pro's came in and did it....it helps if you know what you are looking at and where to stick the tools! Leave it to somone who knows how to handle it, that's what I think

Hi,
My drivers door mirror has been vibrating for some time now but at the weekend suddenly drooped!! I stopped to have a quick look at it and it came off in my hand. To get home I had to pull enough cable through the door to allow the mirror to join me inside.
The tripod looks fine and it appears that the plate in the main mirror body has sheered over time. The driver's door mirror is no longer available from either TVR or Citreon so I guess I need to find a work around.
Does anyone know how I can get into the mirror body without breaking the glass?
