Having passed my driving about 50 years ago I used to have a C1 & C1E. Upon last renewal these have been "vanished'" by the DVLA. Does anyone know what is currently involved in getting them reinstated?
I've looked on the DVLA site but failed to find an answer; thanks.

Are you over 70? Medical needed if so.

I'm 41 and my lorry entitlement vanished as well. Not that I mind particularly but I'd be interested to know how to get it back.

Actually, checking my license, I still have c1 and c. It's the motorbike bit that disappeared. I thought I had up to 125cc without any further tests.

Ah. This covers it. I can ride a 125. But with a CBT. I can even ride a 750cc. But with a hi Viz, an radio and an instructor.

But I'm free and able to ride a 50cc scooter. So that's something.

Yes, passed the ''best before' 70 date.
What sort of medical is required? I have a current EASA Class 2 medical (annual, ECG, vision, glucose in urine etc...the whole works) - it's valid in UK and the rest of Europe (at the moment) but I'm still failing to find the definitive DVLA answer.
Anyone got recent experience? Thanks.

They have been sneakily deleting peoples driving Licence entitlements for a long time, I take a photocopy each time before mine goes in for any replacements.

I would contact them in the first instance and ask what has happened especially if this is a recent action by them and state you didn’t ask for your entitlement to be removed.

I will try that! I will even send it recorded delivery: be interesting to see if I even get a reply.
In the interim I'd still be interested in hearing from anyone who has succeeded in re-gaining their C1 & C1E.

Makes sense. I’ve sat an extra test for C1 and mine “expires” in a few years when i presume I have to reapply to show I’m
Still fit to drive up to 7.5tonne.

D4 medical needed at age 70 to get the free C1 C1E(107) and the D1 (101) and D1E (101) reinstated for 3 years ( not 1 year)

Pay more than £60 for a D4 medical = ripped off

If you had LGV C/CE/D/DE then passing D4 medical will put them back on licence for 1 year as well
