tvr chim or porsche 911 (the old one)

iv been spending the last few days thinking which would be better after someone who lives neer me traded his chim for a 911 what do you think?

I am one of the lucky people, who have both a 911 and a Chimaera.

Have to say if I going on a long motorway trip, I prefer the 911.

If it's a nice sunny day, it's the Chimaera without a doubt.

They are both different cars

Can't say which one I prefer depends on my mood

I've just bought my first Chim, a 5ltr, having owned several porsches incl a 911 turbo. I think most would say the 911 is a good all round sportscar, but it you want to be different, loud and have a grin for Britain, then i would definitely go for the Chim. Have you seen how many porsches are on the roads these days??

I'd say drive them both and see which floats your boat…

I also wouldn't discount the Griffith (same car as the Chimaera underneath), and if you fancy something completely different then have a look around for a Marcos - there seem to be a few interesting examples in the classifieds at the moment.

I chose my 5ltr chim over a 911 mainly due to the performance per pound(£) aspect, having read up on here about reputations etc. very happy with it, too.

In a straight line at least, i think you would have to spend at least double the money of a TVR to get a comparable car of significantly better performance
