Facebook Marketplace - Paying Weekly?
Discussion
Recently when browsing Facebook marketplace and similar car selling/buying groups for leisure as I do regularly, I've noticed several posts from people asking private sellers (complete strangers) to sell a car that they can then pay for it weekly or monthly. I'm talking cars under £2k here, often around the £5-800 mark. Reason being in most cases they want to avoid interest/taking any form of loan - this could be for a variety of reasons I suppose.
Granted, I do feel for these people as it is obvious they have difficulties, it must be an awful predicament to be in but it's something I have only experienced recently - if you didn't have cash for a car you would go to a dealer and take finance or take a loan yourself and buy from wherever. It may just be me being old fashioned, but I for one would think it would be ludicrous to private sale a car in such a way and it would surprise me if people would sell a car in such a way.
Has anybody actually experienced this in that they've been asked to sell this way or even gone through with selling a car on instalments - did it pan out well or end in disaster?
