Hi all,
I'm getting a fleet car with work. Choices are the '15 Octavia estate I'm already in, or I can change it for a '17 Honda HRV. I've grown a bit attached to the Skoda, but is the HRV a better car? I'm starting to lean a bit towards the HRV as I believe they have Apple carplay/android auto and DAB? Both have sat nav which will be useful.
thanks,
Dan

Hi,
Sorry for the thread derail, but how do you find the Skoda. I am getting one soon as a company car. It will likely be the same age and a 1.6tdi.

Cheers

OP hasnt responded so ill say a few words, not owned one but rented one for 2 weeks in Ireland (1.6tdi Hatch) and 3 weeks in Croatia/Montenegro (2.0tdi estate)

They are OK imho, I found the 2.0 to be better than the 1.6 not for any particular performance improvement but more so for general refinement. The 1.6 engine just never shut up, even at a steady motorway cruise it as always there in the background (lack of 6th gear probably the culprit). I was frankly quite appalled considering everyone seems to buy these things and its brand new, my other main complaint is road noise in general. Like the engine it was constant. Admittedly I drove for longer distances at a time but the 2.0 was more frugal too even in the bigger body. I also found it was hard for them to ever be in the right gear, either chugging or revving too high . Neither of which set your pants on fire, they are exactly what they are known to be; White Good Vehicles.

Good points, very spacious, easy to drive. Huge load spaces in both body styles and felt well enough made. Did like the screen in the newer ones too

Take from this what you will, however it must be said I'm seemingly not a huge VW/Skoda fan despite once owning a fully loaded GTD, they're a little dull and sterile. Accomplished sure but I never really looked forward to driving any of them!

I never really warmed to the new HRV. It feels like a cheap CRV, which would be a far better buy even if you had to go 2 years older.
