Historic vehicle MoT exemption

Quick question folks

My 1967 Land Rover is now MOT exempt. Do I need to do anything to register it as exempt or is date of registration enough?

On the MOT site it now shows overdue, “expired” 2 weeks ago

I think you will find it is TAX exempt over 40years old

MOT exemption is for cars pre 1960

Rolling 40 years is now MOT & Tax exemption.

think you'll need to register as VHI with the DVLA - check V112 form for the details on the back

As long as it is up to MOT passing standard. There's an easy way to tell if it is or not...

Well, "roadworthy", which isn't quite the same as MOT-pass. And which EVERY vehicle on the road has to be at all times, not just once a year.

My point was that there is an easy way to check.

My 1974 Landy has been converted to a V8 so not getting an MoT exemption but he Moggy (1959 but showing on DVLA as registered 1987)) is still showing as needing one (15th Nov expiry) and I've just taxed it (which is free) so I've been told if I tax it again after the 15th I should get an option to tick something showing MoT exempt so maybe try that and let me know if it works.
