Average speed cameras on the A543 and a second application I’m guessing for the B4501, which are the 2 fun bits of the triangle.

Such a shame, they’ve already stuck them near the horseshoe pass this year as well.

Was my usual route out only living in Chester

The net result of the internet / social media / tower of bable / invasion of the numpties strikes again.

I never went that far North, my normal route is somewhere else.

So it turns out the UK isn't better than Switzerland then? tongue out

At least here you can just slow down for the cameras once you know where they are normally found.

I genuinely believe that within 10 years owning a fast car/bike will be pointless, speed cameras, black boxes and dashcams are the beginning of the end.

Think you've missed the idea about average speed cameras.

The effect is the same whether it's one of the dozen or so well known UK routes that's been implemented with this system or Switzerland overall - the idea is to make you go elsewhere.

In the more remote areas, I'm surprised these average cameras have survived not being bumped into by a rogue tractor or such like.
Where I live even cashpoints in walls aren't safe from a tractor pulling them out in the middle of the night.

Not that im suggesting such things of course. smile

Then don't speed and mess about then

This is why all this stuff comes about.

the days of speeding and riding like a loony are long gone, there are plenty of places for it surely these days?

Grow up would be my advice

I remember growing up in a deprived area of North Wales and I have to say that I’m delighted the local authorities have invested half a million pounds in this rather than investing in community projects and the like.

The utopian end game is electric automonous cars / pods all droning around in harmony at 15 mph in urban areas, 35 mph in the country and a million mph / speed of light on the expressways. Cars with internal combustion engines will be gradually taxed and banned from town centres and the motorways and only licensed for veteran runs. Parking all prebooked before you set off. Motorbikes will be banned. Public will be happy because they can all get pissed on a night out.

Reality will be horrible, like current travel by air multiplied by a million with delays and any joy removed - everywhere like the London Underground as a mass transit system.

Or full on Mad Max....

As will we all, unless you have some nefarious plan to achieve immortality. Unfortunately, sticking rigidly to the speed limit is not a key to eternal life.

I effectively gave up riding for fun a couple of years ago for that very reason.
