Whilst fiddling with my roof struts I grabbed one in the middle and forced it from the braced position.....ouch!!!
It pinched the mother of all blood blisters in me finger...wotta' donkey, I wont do that again in a hurry.
They rattle quite noisily when underway..the pins are worn out...has anybody ever sorted this problem...if so, what did you do..Paul.

Before I got the ally struts, my old black struts used to rattle annoyingly. What I did was to pour some superglue into the pin joints, while keeping the joint moving so that there were no problems with sticking. The glue filled in some of the wear space so that they still worked but no longer rattled. This worked for two years until I got the ally struts.
Went to B&Q this morn and got 2x6mm bolts, 2x6mm Nyloc nuts and 2 white plastic snap on caps(nice). Fitted them and went out onto the bumpiest road around here.....my roof stays are now silent. Thanks for your ideas chaps...these will do until I can afford the Chimaera struts.
How much are they, by the way and where might I source them...cheers Paul.
