They use a wool mix - it's not easy to get pure wool as per the originals.

Tends to be expensive.

I've had one of these for 10+ years - straightforward camelhair-coloured Admiralty pattern one - and it's brilliant. Very warm, keeps out the wind and shrugs off drizzle and light spray. Get it properly wet and it weighs about three tons and takes daysvto dry and air, though. Very good quality too, I wear it a lot in all winter weathers every year and it's still in great shape

Mackintosh do some nice ones, 100% wool and made in the UK, however they are £795.

Was always my coat of choice when we used to have air-gun fights .177 Gat Guns only allowed though!
