In a similar vein to some of the shoe and trainer threads, what bags and briefcases are you using, hankering for or admiring? I’m interested to hear about work bags, briefcases, gym bags, business and leisure travel luggage

Bags I use at the moment:

Osprey Farpoint 40. This is my main business travel pack, ideal for a working week’s worth of stuff. Plenty of useful features, the only drawback is the laptop sleeve is towards the outside of the pack. Great rucksack harness behind a zipped cover.

Alpkit Gourdon 20. I commute with this (I cycle). Easily big enough for work clothes, plus a laptop if needed, and completely waterproof

Wingnut Hyper 3.0. This is my main cycling pack. Comfy, low riding, ideal for day rides or as part of a bikepacking setup

Osprey Talon 4. It holds the dog’s lead when I’ve got her and the bike. I also own the 11 and 33 for various other uses, but the 11 has been superseded by the Wingnut for biking.

No briefcases - I have no need for one, and my role doesn’t require a suit

The wife has a black bag she uses for work .. chucks all her stuff in it including her laptop

It was given to her by her mother ... who got it from one of her other daughters as a birthday present

A couple of weeks ago the wife was at a corporate event where someone was fawning over the bag and saying she couldn’t believe my wife was using it as an everyday bag !

Turns out it’s by some famous US designer and worth about £2k !!!

Neither my wife or I had any idea ... nor did her mother !!

But as her sister is a high flying lawyer in New York it’s possible !

I have just picked up a Belgrave double document holder by Mulberry. This will mainly serve as work briefcase and laptop bag, with some travel use too. Very happy with the style and quality so far. Was originally looking at the single document holder but thought it a little small to have all round practicality

Eastpak delegate messenger bag for travel, it's big enough to use as a carry on bag but small enough to carry around sightseeing with bottles of water in all day. Plus the main compartment is zipped so thieves can't dip their hands in.

20-odd year old Tumi messenger. It predates carrying laptops around, so it’s rather battered from loose IT kit rolling around in it. Has been back for repair once but it needs to be re-done.

The quality just isn’t what it used to be wink

Nearly bought a replacement earlier this year but couldn’t bring myself to retire it just yet....

Luggage - 4 wheel spinners from Samsonite, "purchased" using my Lufthansa miles from their Worldshop

Work bag "briefcase" - splashed out on a Tumi earlier this year, having replaced Samsnoite / Delsey / Unnamed stuff annually for many years. Fingers crossed!

I'm actually in the market for a new gym bag if anyone has any recommendations.

Looking for a duffle/holdall type bag rather than a rucksack. One that won't look out of place when wearing business atire.

This is my work bag:

Tumi alpha bravo Andersen blue

Carry on:

Victorinox Seefeld 22 inch carry on

Cargo bag:

Dakine split roller

Tumi is the newest addition, the rest are nearly 6+ years old and still look like new (ish).

Black TNF duffels for work. Simple, strong, subtle and pack down reasonably small when not in use. 5.11 for outdoor/BoB stuff. Well built generally good quality stuff with some nice features. Might be a little 'tacticool' for some however.

Cheap ones that need replacing regularly mostly. They just don't last having a laptop shoved in and out with other bits and pieces. Usually the zips break. A quite nice looking Paul Smith colourful thing at the moment but it won't last.

Was given one of these a while ago but I felt like an arse whenever I used it;
