The title more or less sums up what I’m after. I mostly drive on country lanes, often single tracks, so want a small car, brand new (want a warranty), £15-17k budget ideally but up to £20k if something stands out. Preferably <9 sec to 60, decent handling, manual gearbox.

Will have no more than driver+1 passenger. Boot space not an issue. Just looking for something I can have fun with on imperfect roads without worrying too much about keeping it pristine as I would with a larger or more costly car.

Already considered:
Abarth 595 - seating position felt too high. Otherwise great little car.
BMW Mini - felt dull at legal speeds, lacked the old Mini fun factor of feeling quick at lower speeds, actually quite big for a Mini.
MX5 - not fond of convertibles, RF over budget

Yet to try:
Alfa Mito Veloce - auto box but looks and from reviews sounds like a fun car
UP GTi - can’t get a test drive, 6 month wait to order one

Appreciate opinions on above two or indeed any other suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Suzuki Swift Sport probably ticks a lot of boxes.
