I've managed to put a 2 inch scratch (deep, right through the paint) in my lovely new paintwork! On the rear O/S wing. I did it with the roof. Clumsy *!#+wit.
Straight down to HHC yesterday and ace paint man Ryan was able to assure me that he can make her as good as new. After a lot of "there there's" and "she'll be fine's" and "a glass of water for Mr Unrepentant nurse" she was taken away to the paintshop for Ryan to work his magic. Picking her up again tomorrow. Meanwhile I'm having fun seeing how fast I can go in the HHC 1.2 Fiesta. (Answer not very!)

Whats this? The itchy and scratch show?
The pull of the subconscious, eh?
So, for £200 plus VAT they are presumably doing a proper job (i.e. wet-and-dry, fill, etc., then respray whole panel). At least there are no transfers to worry about. On a bike fairing it's easy to damage these as well as the plastic, and the cost of transfers is shocking. In fact, even if transfers aren't damaged they'll get replaced anyway if the whole panel is being resprayed.
Hope it turns out well.

Yeah, they have to do more or less the whole panel. I'm promised that it will look perfect. Its £160 for labour (4 hours?) plus about £30 for materials. An expensive lesson but not unreasonable IMHO.
