On Review Of Video Evidence
Discussion
Assuming chap stripped to the waist makes a complaint and with video evidence all over YouTube and social media is "Coach" looking at NFA or is he in soapy bubble.

I didn’t have be audio, but from seeing it looks possible to justify the punch, but I think he’d struggle to justify kicking someone knocked out on their back.
Magnus Magnusson syndrome. It's ok for you professionals trained in restraint but the average civilian red misted up often find that they go into a "I've started so I'll finish" mode.

Seems reasonable to keep them on the floor. I doubt the shirtless chap was after the first strike.

It is sometimes hard to go from 1-10 back to 1 again and reassess after a long build up of adrenaline.

Look closer, the nobhead is on his front, his heels are up, ‘Coach’ kicks him in the a

Look closer, the nobhead is on his front, his heels are up, ‘Coach’ kicks him in the a
hole...Having heard the audio and watched it on a bigger screen, I don't think it helps 'coach'. It comes across that he's hit him out of (a build up of) annoyance rather than necessity / self-defence.
I assume the chap is alive and well. However, would anyone fancy justifying that if he died and the scrutiny you'd come under then?

I’m all for Coach, how much slack do you need to give someone before you give them a slap?
I'd just be taking pieces from this, so it's worth reading: https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/self-defence...A key part is what 'coach' honestly believed and felt was necessary. Or more practically, what he would say he did if interviewed.
Coach gave him nearly 3 minutes plus whatever isn’t on film to walk away. His kids are scared. His missus is calling the Police and the man isn’t backing off and leaving.
Absolutely 100% for coach. Even the final kick. Very very hard to from 1-10 and then stop after 1 strike.
I’d hope anyone with some sense would agree.

Coach had the patience of a saint. Great strike as well.
It's not like he stamped on his head, he kicked him up the arse.
If he gets in trouble for it then IMO it's out if order.
(Obvs we don't know what goatee wanted to fight about, there are conceivable scenarios where coach might have deserved grief for things we have not seen)..

Sadly the guy doing the hitting was obviously of the same ilk, wife has the kids there the whole time without taking them inside, quite happy to stand there and watch, and expose her kids to all this. Homeowner also clearly thinking with his attitude and anger first nothing else, clearly ready at a moments notice to boil over, towny chav type.
Simply walk inside and lock the door, this guy was clearly out of his tree, looking for a confrontation without any kind of idea why, just an angry drunk, he went over so easily I doubt anything less than a push would have done the same. Whether he would have gone away who knows, issue would be if he had damaged the property, but really hat fence looked like it was made of plastic, so really who cares.
I have sympathy to some extent with the homeowner, but if the bloke fell on his head, cracked his skull, you know what was likely.
For me one chav couple, doing what they do best. Spent too much time watching the Firm

Wannabe Al Pacino deserved all he got.
It was well explained to him what would be coming. And as for “Go in and shut the door”
Really ? Al Pacino starts booting the door with the kids in?
Agree mother should have removed the kids instantly from the situation, but apart from that, i think the fella dealt with it admirably.

I think 'Coach' showed a lot of restraint considering this guy was in his face in front of his wife and kids. And the fact that he took this guys behaviour for several minutes, at his own home address, would be in his favour, as I think the first punch is a clear and justified pre-emptive strike, as allowed in law for self defence. If the footage had ended there, completely in his favour.
The kick when the guy was down, that's on much shakier ground. That's not self defence, that's a kick in anger and frustration. However I'd be tempted to say it wouldn't be in the public interest to prosecute. He could probably also suggest that the guy was getting back up or kicking at him so he gave him another kick, but we can't see it due to the fence.

The 'Coach' will have problems there.
Regardless of what the shirtless male has done at inception, at the time of the attack by the coach the shirtless male is simply stood still.
On the video the coach raises his voice and gets louder and louder indicating anger and loss of control, he also shouts loudly at the shirtless male. The shirtless male is stood still and silent and makes no move towards the coach.
Maybe a pre-emptive strike defence would have had some merit, but the loss of control by the coach all on video will go against him and then the kick on the floor seals the coaches fate.

I don't see what the increase in threat was that suddenly required a change in behaviour by 'the COACH', something that altered matters to suddenly require/justify a pre-emptive strike.
Looked more like he wasn't get what he wanted, lost patience & just upped the ante himself. If he was so concerned about the wife/kids why didn't he just go inside & wait for the Police who had been called?
Yes the shirtless guy is a
but then equally so was 'the coach'.
He could have just backed off himself of course, or was he more worried about some sort of loss of face by being the one to walk/back away?

I have no idea how that would play out in court. But I'd hope that any judge or jury would agree that the goatee bearded prick had it coming.
Morally I may be with coach but I think he may struggle on an argument of self defence as essentially he escalated it very quickly to violence - possibly needlessly and excessivley. In my view he should have pushed the guy away from his property and only if he refused should he have hit him to end it.
