Firefox security risk...

I've just spotted this potential risk in Firefox: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4532127.stm
As a precaution I have turned my Javascript off - this is however, suppressing your toolbar/menu, including "What's new-My stuff etc".
Is there any work around for this or is it a case of waiting until Mozilla arrange an update before I switch it back on?
