I had two this time, cost me about 50p in sweets, probably better than having my cars keyed or some other "trick"....

I think I got off quite lightly....

Never had them for a couple of years. Apparently no pumpkin outside = not interested in people knocking.

I live in the sticks though with no street lighing so finding the house in the dark is a challenge. Testament to the numerous delivery drivers that ring lost.

Think of the electricity saving.

Double result.

We had two knocks.

I bought a few multi packs of snack sized bags of haribo, total cost £2

Kids were very friendly and excited, accompanied by adults.

Even had a few packs left over which I finished off this morning, win win.

0. Which equals the number of the last ten years.

I had pumpkins in the windows with the lights off so you could see them from the street. But I live down the end of a long private road with no streetlights and generally old people.

I do now have a box of sweets to finish off....

Most in the town I live stick to the housing estates, they also play fair by avoiding houses with no halloween garb outside

8 children, none of them local. all before 7:30

For the past 4 years I have had a caller at 9.30, a woman aged about 25, wearing a nurses uniform which is shorter than her stockings, she walks passed other houses but knocks on my door, says trick or treat, I give her some chocolate and she goes away. Doesnt even look back. She walks passed neighbours houses again and down the hill.

Everyone round to Robbos house this time next year? laugh

I was out with my 6 year old son who loves Halloween - we only knock at houses with lights on and decorations outside, its like an unwritten rule you don't knock anywhere else. He loves it, very excited, good exercise in good manners too as he has to ask and say thank you and be polite haha. We just leave a bucket of sweets outside with a note to take one, in the hope kids will be honest and not rob the lot in one visit!

I bought about 63 'snack sized' chocolate bars of different varieties.

This was reduced to about 57 after my wife sneakily ate all the sodding mini bags of chocolate buttons. furious

There were about 7 left at the end of the night. I opened the door to a battalion of about 9 kids in costumes. It doesn't take long to clear the box when you have a few of those turn up.

Had a flashing pumpkin in the bay window, a flashing red light in the porch, and a home-made broomstick outside.

2 separate groups of kids with parents who were really young. More than last year which was 0. Shame really. Used to get quite the haul as a kid so don't mind them knocking.

Someone rang but was ignored; no lights or pumpkin should have been a clue not to call.

0, same every year. Deep in the sticks, if someone did find us, they’d deserve a treat. Trouble is, the dog would see them off long before they got anywhere near the house.
