Audi A7 as family car

I have been looking at a new car to replace my 2011 530d. Originally I had thought of an SUV but for 20k I can't get an X5 in the spec I want.
Was thinking of A7, it's Quattro big boot and great engine choice. Has anyone run one as a family car??

My mates had one for three years, loves it, does the family car role well. He had a Masarati Gibli as a courtesy car lately, he hated it and couldn’t wait to get back in the A7.

It'd be fine, it's a fastback A6 after all. IIRC the early ones were only 4 seaters though.
