Despite being tempted by a front light upgrade I have decided to stick with the original design, however I was wondering if anyone had kept the original lights and just changed the bulbs?? Is so, which ones did you upgrade to, how much were they and was there a noticeable difference? Thanks.

there is a company whose name escapes me who do lots of lx things for TVRs. They do an upgrade to front lights for brighter bulbs ie new wires and bulbs?

Just cleaning the reflectors makes a big difference. Try and get hold of some 80/100W H4 bulbs, ebay is a good start.

These with clean reflectors have given me really good lights now. Also when you have the new pods fitted ensure that you can stil get them off, to clean the reflectors you see!

Am having the reflectors cleaned, maybe even repsrayed silver or even replaced, can't remember (I stopped listening when he started with the price of all the work!!) but wondered if it was worth actually changing the bulbs to newer super-duper ones. Otherwise will stick with the cleaned up reflectors and original bulbs....

The bulbs are standard H4 ones, you can upgrade those anytime.

True, in our tech logs we have to say things like;

Left side landing lamp not working

the engineer writes;

Left side landing light re-lamped

www.powerbulbs.com is where you want to go.

Either the Philips Vision Plus (used to be the King of Bulbs) or now the Osram Silver Star.

Had three sets of Philips on various cars, and now a set of Osrams on the CLK. Not bothered changing them on the Tiv because (a) they're a pain to do and (b) actually I don't think the lights are that bad. Maybe mine have already been upgraded?
