First post so Hello All

Wondered if anyone had any experience insuring a younger driver - My g/friend is 22 and Privilege won't have a bar of adding her on to my insurance (2.5 Boxster), they say she's gotta be 25+.

Any other companies that will accomodate or have I gotta trade her in for a 'classic' model ??

Cheers,

J

That's odd - I've been using Privilege for years, and when I got my first 993 I was aged 25.

I asked about putting my girlfriend (then 23) on the insurance, and they said 'no problem, that'll be £100 cheaper' I've since had her on all policies as it makes them cheaper for me.

Has yours got a history of stacking cars? Does she have insurance on her own motor?

Strange - nope no accidents / points and her own insurance

I'll give them another call and see what they have to say - how long ago did you do this maybe they've changed their policy

Try Chris Wilkins at Bickley Insurance on 0208 7738123. I just insured my 993 (I'm 26) and when I put on my gf (also 26) as opposed to my dad (who's 60 with 43 years unblemished driving record), my premium came down by about £300. Spousal discount apparantly. Not sure whether this would work with a 22 year old, but he is very helpful and worth a try.
