Any thoughts on these?

I guess the looks are divisive

They seem like very good value at 1 year old. £35k ish down from 50 or 60k new

I’d use it as a daily wafter up and down the m1. 100 mile commute each day.

Quite a lot on autotrader etc, over 100 available and I read somewhere that bmw only expect to sell 1500 new ones a year in the uk. So assume they aren’t selling fast...

Apart from the looks I think they would make a lovely car to commute in for sure.

yes

I'm sure I read that this car uses the current 7 Series platform as its underpinnings which you'd have to assume is a great thing for the type of use mentioned.

yeah, i think its 7 series platform, 5 series fixtures and fittings

i'm off to see one at my local BMW place today. you can't see what the outside looks like when you are sat in it on the motorway :-)

A certain BMW dealer group has just bought 20 off BMW for half price....so i’d want one double cheap if BMW are in a rush to unload them.

i've been to the Sandal BMW franchise today

the car they have was full of kit. pretty much everything you could think of

i was a bit disappointed with how it drives. bit wallowy in corners, definitely not nimble and sprightly

so 50/50 about what to do. really nice car. drive i could probably live with

BMW dealer not playing ball so far on the deal. they want the sticker price, at 9.9% APR

needless to say i'll not be doing a deal at those rates......

At nearly 1900kg they do carry a fair bit of weight, it will be a lovely motorway muncher though I would've thought. Cheers for the update.

I had one for more than 2 weeks as a loan car.

Couldn’t recommend it more, especially if you’re not bothered about the size or looks.

I’m not sure how you called it wallowy as the one I had was more than good enough. It did have the optional air suspension so maybe that’s why.

The car is based on the 7 platform so think of it as a 7 series, not a 5.

It’s extremely comfortable, the driving position is ace, you sit high, it’s huge inside, the boots massive and the build quality is brilliant.

I fell in love with it, they come very well equipped and I think dealers struggle to shift them so you could get lucky with a discount.

It was a loan car and the story behind it is interesting, I first had it in March for a few days, at the time I liked it and checked the price out, it was up for 47 grand, down from the original price of 65, it was 6 months old at the time. Had 3k miles. Then my car had a problem so they gave it to me again in September, for 2 weeks, with 10k miles and it was up for 36, more 2 weeks I had it, they didn’t call me once asking for it back, saying someone wants to see it or test drive it. Anyways on the last day, a lady came with a 320d and took the 630d as someone finally wanted to see it, but at the time, on the advert, it had 7k miles with the price of 36. Who knows how much they sold it for in the end but whoever bought it is a lucky man!

The standard of kit definitely appeals. As does the list price being 60k and a 1 year old one is about 35k!

I think I need to take one out again, see if it feels better on a 2nd drive

I think you have to appreciate it for what its good at, I remember my 640d Coupe never being that exciting to drive or that great in the bends(especially tight ones). But as a car to cover big miles in with a great performance/economy mix, I thought it was brilliant at that.
