Lady VP and I had a very (pleasantly) odd experience on Saturday night. We had dinner at one of Ramseys places and the bill came to a not insignificant £200.
However they had applied a £150 discount against it described as a voucher or something - do the staff have discretionary hand outs to use promotionally as they see fit?

I think you just got very lucky. When I had a restaurant my front of house manager would comp. things but not without reason. A few free coffees, a Brandy on the house or a couple of cocktails was about the limit normally.

Deposit paid by another applied to the wrong table.

Come their bill there will have been an argument, and some poor sap will be washing dishes foc for a while.

You're lucky ... keep quiet, pay the bill, exit quickly!

Lol this is exactly what we did, couldn't believe our luck!

As an aside the Heddon Street Kitchen is not all that, I couldn't recommend it.
