BUMPERLESS JAG
Discussion
I need to remove the front bumper on my x type jaguar to replace the headlight bulbs but due to time issues i may not have time to replace the bumper before i need to drive the car ! question is can i drive the car with the bumper removed there will be nothing protrubing out the front of the car.

Aside from missing a number plate, wouldn't it invalidate the insurance as the bumper is an integral part of the car's crash resistance, especially for pedestrians?
Most 'bumpers' are a flimsy plastic moulding whose sole purpose is to shatter on the slightest impact and provide more profit for the dealer and manufacturer. <<cynic mode off>>FFS what a palaver. Is it easier on the equivalent Mondeo?
I've driven past a stationary police car parked at a right angle to the side of the road without a rear bumper on my car. The officer just watched me drive past, but the rear reg. plate was on the tailgate so I wasn't missing a rear plate.

It's possible that your car would not be deemed roadworthy by a fussy police officer, as there will be plenty of sharp edges that would normally be covered by the bumper
Not sure it's about being fussy at all, would you rather have your legs taken from underneath you by a flexible absorbable bumper or a steel subframeGassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
