Train cancelled your allowed free taxi
Discussion
If you already hold a ticket then they should make arrangements to get you to your destination whether that's a taxi or a hotel room and validate your ticket for travel for next day travel if a hotel is organised.
Now this is fine if you find a member of staff to sort it out for you, but if the station is unmanned and the last train in cancelled then you can claim afterwards for REASONABLE expenses. (That is, booking a Travelodge instead of the Ritz, etc ) you must mitigate your costs where possible and you must keep receipts and tickets and send them in to the relevant TOC customer services dept. (Scans maybe fine, different TOCs act differently).
If you don't hold a ticket (that is, you intended to rock up to the station a few minutes prior to final departure and purchase a ticket only to find the last train cancelled) then you is f
ked and on your own

Point 10 for above poster (only applies to last train cancellation)
