When I say a twist, I mean somewhere that works for a vegan, a pescatarian and two omnivores who realise they're probably going to be eating fish....

This is for a 50th birthday celebration meal, on a cold Monday night in February. Posh, but not too posh, Cool, but not too cool. Fine dining, but not overly up itself. The ideal would be somewhere that offers a vegan and pescatarian tasting menu but if that particular unicorn doesn't exist then it's the pescatarian's birthday so that's more important.

Ideally up to £150/head including wine, maybe a little more if it's amazing.

And even better if it's a chef the foodie birthday girl will have heard of.

Simple huh?

All suggestions gratefully received.

My recommendation is Ormer in Mayfair.

Fish and vegan / veg options on the a la carte.

Run by Shaun Rankin. Been there twice now, not pretentious, super reasonable pricing for such a high-end restaurant and the food, service, ambience was amazing. Not up itself, not pompous, all welcoming and we will be there again in a few weeks.

Locanda Locatelli could potentially fit your bill. No idea about the Vegan thing, but it is Italian so it's a possible fit. The starter that my wife had was potatoes, green beans and truffle - it was one of the nicest dishes I've ever eaten.

We had a great meal at Cora Pearl in Covent Garden earlier in the year. I think they cover all bases on the food. No headline chef but well received by the critics. They have a sister restaurant in Mayfair, Kitty Fisher, but haven't been there for a while so not sure about the vegan options.

J Sheekey is very good.
They have a Veggie menu, not sure about Vegan.

Have a look at Hawksmoor. We had a party in a private room recently and the verdict on the vegan dishes was excellent. The Air Street one does plenty of fish, and the steaks are superb. I think it would cover all the bases. Also, on a Monday they do corkage for £5 a bottle whatever wine you bring along.

Pollen Street Social do separate vegetarian and vegan menus with tasting menus on both.

..... not to mention the look on the vegans faces when half a warmed up cow is presented on at the table.... priceless.

Hard to go wrong with Locanda Locatelli. Always excellent grub, and it's my go to choice whenever we go out with vegetarians or vegans.
