I’ve had my battery disconnected on my 98 328i this evening and when I reconnected it the siren inside the car is blaring and won’t go off.
Car starts absolutely fine. Have tried disconnecting and reconnecting a few more times and still get the same.
Any ideas?
Was the car unlocked when you reconnected the battery? If I remember my E38 was similar, had to ensure the car was fully unlocked when I disconnected/reconnected the battery.Car starts absolutely fine. Have tried disconnecting and reconnecting a few more times and still get the same.

There is a second battery somewhere for the alarm, I think ? When my wife's megane was laid up for 18 months I reconnected a charged battery and had a siren go off, which continued for a short time even after I disconnected the main battery. The siren noise got quieter and quieter until it stopped. So i assumed there is a second battery. After I unlocked all the doors and reconnected the main battery it was fine.
