So I just go an email from Barclaycard stating that I haven't paid my credit card bill.

I haven't used the card in years, it has a zero balance and it is safely tucked up in an old wallet at home.

Phone them, to be told that it has been used to book flights of around 1500 quid and a 900 transaction was declined for a rental car company in September.

They are sending me forms to fill in to get this disputed.

Anyone else been through similar? Obliviously I do not want to be stung with this bill!

Been a few years, but I had my barclaycard cloned in a Shell garage...they bought a tv and a few other bits and pieces.

Shouldn't take more than a week or two to get sorted. You won't be liable for a penny.

Had two online gambling charges with MBNA years back - something like £2K.

After I confirmed they weren't mine they disappeared and I never heard anymore. Shouldn't be an issue.

All you have to remember is that they haven't taken your money, they have taken the banks money.

The bank believed it was you when it wasn't so debited it from your account.

I had $10,000 taken from my Amex while in Key West, knew nothing of it until the Miami police phoned on my return to the UK. Amex knew my spending habits and 10k of wet fish wasn’t normal ! Of course Amex stopped it within days.
