Ok did a post a few weeks back about the what engine to put in my Pell Genesis (mid engined) and have now narrowed it down to the above.

Has any one got any experience of the above units in any vehicle included the vehicles they were originally put in.

I have put the Prelude h22a engine as a choice as i could afford to fit a supercharged version of this in the Pell instead of the N/A S2000 or V6.

I must admit being a Integra Type R owner my heart lies with the S2000, my head says V6 as this has the biggest power potential and my wallet leans towards the Prelude.

Vast majority or the miles done will be road or Drag Strip based and 2 track days a year if lucky

S2000 is inline front/rear drive so gearbox could be problem as engine is unique to S2000 and smaller than other VTEC units so might not fit other Honda gearboxes.

Duratec V6 relatively bulky and heavy but offers decent low down torque.

Think Prelude unit might be best for car like Genesis.

Just out of interest how much would a 2.0 Honda type R or integra engine cost? Is the duratec about the same?

I believe the S2000 engine spins in the opposite direction to at least earlier FWD Honda engines. Same ditrection as pretty much all other manufacturers, so sourcing a gearbox/adapter might be an issue.

I went for the 2.5L Duratec mainly for the extra torque ..... and the sound of a V engine is infinitely better than a four pot in my opinion. If you lighten the flywheel it should be less lazy and despite the extra weight, more entertaining on road and track.
