BMW pet hate - Nav's cack handed zoom function

Surely I'm not the only one to notice the cack handed zoom function on idrive, it's back to front on every BMW product I've ever come across, including the Goodwood stuff.

Until today that is. The latest i3 it's now the right way round!!! eg right twist to zoom in, unlike every other iteration, what others have changed??

Has somebody at BMW been listening to me finally my teeth can stop itching every time I get in a BMW

My 2017 330d twist to the left, perfect.
My 2018 MY M4 twist to the right, drives me fekkin mad.

Also, the M4 will zoom back out on its own to large map. The 330 will stay where i put it.

Annoys the hell out of me.

Assumed it was designed principally for the left hookers. What's worse, when the weather is cold, the rotary knob gets so stiff I can barely turn it until the heating has been on for a while.

Upgraded my maps to 2018 and agree the GUI is shocking. Zoom is crap

Don't know if anyone else has the same issue but the sky or horizon takes up half the bloody screen in 3D!!
