So he fitted the wrong oil filter and it made noises ?
Really ? Like a grunt, a squeak, a rattle ? And how do you know it was a wrong filter ?
And it's taken you 2 months to try and correlate these things with mpg changing ? Or is that just something different ?
Obviously when a right oil filters not on for a 1.2 turbo its gonna make a rattling noise i got him to get a right one fitted its doing low miles per gallon my guesses are his used a cheap oilReally ? Like a grunt, a squeak, a rattle ? And how do you know it was a wrong filter ?

so car was making weird noises and engine light came on
Never mind the economy - what have you done to fix these two major problems that you noticed a couple of months ago?Im saying after a month of service my car is still doing low mpg
Cars tend to get lower MPG in colder months in my experience. My car normally does 50mpg but only getting early to mid 40s, my old car would get 40mpg in warm months but about 35 in cold months.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the cold makes the engine work harder and also you've likely got heaters going hence the lower MPG. Could be normal, but if you're worried there's no harm getting it booked in to be looked over, that's also the only way of finding out for sure what's wrong, people posting on here haven't seen the car so it would need to be checked by a professional.

U haven’t answered the question? No one asked for that comment
Ok. Some advice then. It’s really helpful if, when you post about a problem, you post everything you know so that people can help swiftly.
There are quite a few trolls on PH, so your post looked dodgy, especially with your recent joining of the madhouse.
I can echo the post above.
I often saw new diesel drivers worried after the clocks changed and the temps dropped. If your main journeys are only, say, ten miles each, you’ll be harder hit as the engine doesn’t get properly up to temp.

My wife had a Civic V-tec E. The first service saw it filled with Castrol Magnatec and the MPG went down by around 20%. It turns out the engine is very oil sensitive and had to have a specific type and grade. A quick technical bulletin from Honda and oil change later saw the car back to 45mpg.

I took my car for service few month back and ever since then when u press the gas peddle to accelerate the car will kind of jerk back or pull back like its not getting power.
Cant find anything on the internet YouTube or anything put in injectors cleaners to see if it sovles it, but nope still same issue anyone know what the issue is?
