Looking at first PCH car for my wife. Found a decent 3yr offer on a Mazda CX-5, service interval is every 12.5k or 12 months, whichever is earlier.

Will I need to pay for the 3rd service or just hand it back before it’s due?

Also, dealer wants a £500 deposit to order the car - is that normal?

There are a couple of things you can to avoid paying for the 3rd service;

- Have the first and second done at the latest possible date to avoid voiding the warranty, this may buy you a month or two so the 3rd does not become due whilst you have the car.
- As you say, hand the car back early, though this will involve paying a proportion of any outstanding payments so a case of weighing up the value against not paying for the service and MOT.

It is normal for a dealer to want £500 deposit when ordering a car IME, though it is not something the brokers generally do.
