On my 500 (serp) the idler pulley, at tickover, moves with the lulling revs of the engine. Is this normal at all?

Have tried to tighten the bolt, moved a bit but had no impact on fixing the pulley.

Yes it's normal for the tensioner pulley to move slightly.

Yes .. ..... how else can it exert the right tension ..

If it moves a lot then the belt may be a bit sus, belts stretch with age, when I replaced my last one, the diff between the tensioner position between old and new was noticable. The old belt was totaly FCUKED. and longer
