I don't suppose there is a POI list around for French camera sites we could use for TomTom etc.

I've never seen any, but would like to have some sort of security with a convoy of 24 following my route down

You might want to take a look at www.securiteroutiere.gouv.fr/infos-ref/regles/csa/csa-liste.html

In the absence of your tomtom file, at least you can mark these sites on a map... good luck!

go to www.viamichelin.co.uk/viamichelin/gbr/tpl/hme/MaHomePage.htm plan your route and they will give you the location of traps along it

OK guys, I've been through the map, using the French website. Assuming it is not updated before we go, you shouldn't need to worry about fixed camera sites until you get near Rouen (within 5 miles of Rouen there are 3 on various approach roads).

Once 5 miles past Rouen, there should be no more on the major routes down until the following:-

If you are going down the N12 from Evreux to Alencon there is one at ARMENTIERES-SUR-AVRE (70 km/h), about 6 miles past Verneuil-sur-Avre.

If you are going down the N138 from Rouen to Alencon, there is one at SAINT-EVROULT-DE-MONTFORT (90 km/h), about 20 miles past Bernay.

Other than that, there are some around Le Mans itself on the approach roads (i.e. within 15 miles of the city centre).

Of course, you will need to watch out for mobile cameras everywhere...
