So very sad to see the XJR go last night - what have I done!
Such a great car. I'll particularly miss those elegant looks, the quality interior, the sheer pull of that engine, and the fact that you get such a postive response from other road users.

Hope I can still hang around your forum......

Tried to convince myself I could run an XJR and a 911 - a foolish idea

For what its worth, if you find yourself up against a 996 in a straight line, an XJR/XKR, will win. Pretty amazing considering the difference in size!

Still look lustfully at sexy black XJRs / XKRs

bar steward!

Would have done if Jaguar dealers had given me a sensible trade in for the XJR against a 4.2 XKR Convertible.

Anyway, at least in the 996 I have brakes and can go around corners now.

Yep, still pert and shiny

Wheel bearing is on the way out though... the list seems endless Still, nothing that can't be solved by throwing money at it

PS: Went for a blast to Folkstone last night for no particular reason - oh, except that there were 50 odd Gumballers heading the same way, sweeeeeet

See middle of second page.

How about an 'R' club team next year, just to make 800 feel even more depressed

Thats just it Angel, they are as common as buses in the UK. Today for instance saw about 15 Boxsters and 996's on my 100 mile jaunt and 5 Jags mainly XJ's an XK's.

I do like the 997 mind you, untill that becomes as common as a cold.

Rule Jag-waaaar!

Look: Porsche employees get factory sponsored leasing contracts - means - every little Porsche engeneer drives one - and when u spend like 100 k EUROS for a car - you dont want to see 10 in 15 mins when you are driving through your town...
