Careful.
Oddly enough in the mk2's the 2.0 TFSI's in the standard 2l are EA888 and chain driven.
For some reason the TTS uses the (older) EA113, which is belt-driven, for some reason known only to VAG. The EA888 would easily have been uprated to the 260+hp in the TTS & was newer in design and more efficient. I had a mk2 2.0 l TFSI remapped to 260+ without issue for 4 years.
It was originally called an FSI when un-turbo'd, then the Turbo FSI, then T[space]FSI, before they gave up and called them all TFSI - just to really f
k everybody up.
They must have had a pile of them lying around.

FSI (belt), TFSI (chain). OP is asking about a TTS.
FSI (basically) stands for normally aspirated, direct injection petrol engine.TFSI turbo direct injection petrol engine.
'Fuel Stratified Injection' in its early days was more commonly known as 'Forking Silly Idea' owing to those first engines liking to go wrong quite often.

Early mark 2s use a belt-driven 2.0 TFSI EA113. Later ones did indeed get the 888, chain-driven engine.Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
