Early dials

Hi all. In the middle of a bit of a project at the mo. (Body off thread to follow, with gory pics...)

Is it possible (has anyone) taken the black bezels off the dials of the early clocks?



Would like to pop them off & freshen them up but don't want to cause damage. Is there a non damaging techique at all?

Just gently pry at the back of the bezel with a screwdriver, working your way around until the rolled edge slips over the housing. Just take your time and it’ll be fine.

Think I'd opt for carefully masking off the glass and paint them in situ?

Can be done if you need to get at the workings but too risky just to paint the bezel.
