Hp reanult megane sport tourer ingress of water

Hi all had the car 2 months and have water coming in From the top of the boot lid and lots in rear passenger foot well the car is on hp and have contacted the finance company and dealer and are dealing with it but the are saying it may be wear and tear ? Done about 500 miles in it . I'm asking for a goods swap and finance company are pushing for it as it's very wet and I imagine electrical problems will arise why I don't want it repaired any help and advise would be appreciated

Typical wear and tear might be if you were carrying pushchairs, wheelchairs or golf trolleys which damaged the boot seal getting them in and out. I had an old Nova saloon which suffered from a wet boot. A new boot seal fixed it. Sometimes parking on a steep hill always pointing the same way every day can prevent rain flowing off the car in the intended manner and it gets past a seal.

If that's 500 miles from new and the car has regular use, it does seem an extreme case though.
