Is there an app for a smartphone that registers motion?

I want to do prowler sprints, and keep within 5-10% of peak performance, a regimen from here
I'd like an app that can detect the movement of the prowler as it moves and then stops when it stops. Does such an app exist?

You could programme your target sprint time into a running watch as an interval session. It will bleep at the start and end of each sprint, then at the end of a rest period. If you do the sprints as a shuttle run over a marked distance you'll know whether you've achieved the distance within the allowed time for each run.

Best that I can do smile
