Hi,

Can anyone recommend on MBA course material or book's on the subject areas? I do not intend to take the full degree, but i need to develop.

Anything on Amazon/Kindle is well received.

Thanks in advance.

MBAs or that course material is suitable for certain types of career / development - but not all, so if you are happy to share a bit more information about your goals etc. Then we might also be able to make other suggestions...

Having been involved in management consultancy and building businesses for c. 30 years I would never do the course and see the only value being the CV entry in certain settings...

I am due to make a move into the C-suite. I come from a PwC and Deloitte background, but i have some understanding missing in certain areas related to business. I have been recommended the MBA as an educational piece during the course of a couple of long haul flights, not a course or exam.

maybe start with the 10 fay mba https://www.amazon.co.uk/10-Day-MBA-step-step-mast...

then pursue different bits to deepen your understanding...
a lot depends on whether you want a career in selling the ability to regurgitate mba theory, or whether you want to genuinely expand business knowledge and expertise which doesn’t really come from MBAs but from reality and experience of runnin businesses / starting them up / experience of failing businesses / learning about strategy / managing staff / etc... you probably have a number of those skills / areas of knowledge, but the real skill comes together in actually putting it into practice...

you can spot mba spiel a mile away... and it usually comes from those whose focus is on thetheory and applying it, not the business and its needs...

so grab the theory, but focus more on the practice...
