Am I right in thinking Brunters is 2.5 mile (the longest straight) ?

How long is Elvington @ York. Just looking on a website & it said it was 3.5 miles. Is this correct ?

Brunters is amongst the longest certaintly.

2 miles. Although we don't get the full two miles at VMAX due to the new car car park at the end. I'd guess at VMAX we get about 1.6 miles to the speed trap, then 400 metres to the 90 degree right hander.

that's quite interesting. 1.6 miles is obviously quickly covered at the sorts of speeds that can be attained. i managed 165 on the mile straight at millbrook before braking way too early so essentially you have 2/3 a mile further which at say 180mph is covered in about 12 secs... then you have 400m to the right hander...

how many people have come a cropper at vmax?

We have had a few spinners on the corners (yours truly included) but not much to hit so again no damage done.

I think the only casualties at any VMAX has been the off puncture due to debris on the track and a few stone chips

Cerbera losing its rear screen, a few engines going pop, bebbessen did a bit of damage one time iirc, I lost a front number plate, some boiled fluid, some brakes on fire, nothing much really.
