I have always gave a delivery driver from the local takeaway a couple of quid tip, not much but a tip none the less. Now I have noticed I am being charged service charges on top of the normal food and delivery charge. I feel like not tipping now because of the extra charge and I bet non of that service or delivery charge goes the the driver. Shame

Anyone else tipping/not tipping? seems like robbery to me as that is their business, so why charge a service charge for something that your business solely produces.

Not Just Eat but Big Foodie so same thing. The other week I ordered from a place that has its own website so not linked to the food apps and they have started to charge service charges.

Just Eat also charge more compared to the shops normal menu so they are taking the piss on both counts.

That there is your answer, ring the order through pay on delivery as the delivery driver will not be done over by the app.

My regular Indian takeaway said that Just Eat take 30% of the total bill in fees.

I always phone now.

Yup, I worked for them for a little while, I really don't understand how they are still around. Literally every month it felt like they where raising their fees, taking a little more from restaurants, paying drivers a little less. That blanket £0.50 charge on all orders should have killed them off, sadly it hasn't but at least alternative services are getting much bigger now.
