Has anyone ever fitted a cheap clutch kit, regretted it and ended up doing the job again with a more expensive kit like Luk etc?
I fitted a cheap eBay jobbie to a vehicle last year and I'm thinking about doing it again with quality parts.

I don't want to say what the issue is at this point because I'm interested if anyone has been in a similar conundrum and what the issue was in your case.

Sorry to be cryptic but if I say what the issue is people often reply with what they think/assume/google rather than personal experience of doing such jobs.

I have such a hatred for doing the clutch in the first place I always use the expensive kits. Interested to see if the cheap ones are worth it...

Clutch is one of those jobs, like the timing belt, where the cost of the labour so heavily outweighs the cost of the parts that cheap parts are definitely a false economy.

Also beware eBay in general, supposedly there's a lot of counterfeit parts floating about

No help to you OP, but ^^^^ This all day every day for me too. Although, I obviously don't pay for my labour the same is true. Only want to do those 2 jobs once in a vehicles residency with me.

OK, so the issue is that the biting point is very on or off - there is hardly any slippage which makes driving it, especially parking etc a revvy affair or it stalls.
Other than that it works perfectly fine.

Oh yeah I have no doubt about that. I usually buy from a more established seller with good feedback rather than Mr foreign name from Birmingham with zero feedback.
