Owners of remapped 640d - review?
Discussion
Is there anyone with experience of owning a remapped 640d on here?
I’ve changed to a 640d from an earlier 635d, the older car felt sportier and better built. The newer model is more powerful standard but I’m wondering if a remap will bring it alive a bit more?
Any owner reviews after a remap? I’ve read the ecu’s used to be locked when they we’re newish models but now I think they can be remapped quite easily to circa 360-380bhp depending on the firm.
Car does 80 miles a day on the motorway and although it’s quick feeling, I would like to hear from any owners who have had a remap
Thanks,

There are plenty of remapped 640's I know of. Most are around 400bhp and 750 ish Nm.
The bit that you may wish to dig in more to though sadly is the 8HP gearbox is the real limiting factor as the "safe limit" is 700Nm. I know plenty of cars have not had issues with that level of engine torque being exceeded, but be aware you are over the rated limit with many of these remaps in regards to the gearbox.
