So after having my original Kia Pro Ceed GT written off I purchased a Vauxhall GTC 1.6t Limited Edition.

Now I never really settled into the GTC and going that I was always comparing it to the Kia and found that it just never compared fully, sure it had some good points but overall the Kia was a better.

So in a full circle style and with just over a year on the GTC I finally went with head and heart and purchased another Kia Pro Ceed GT.

Managed to pick up a very looked after 65 plate in a private sale with 17,000 miles on the clock.

Will post a few more pictures over the weekend when I take some..

Kia make some really nice cars now. Had a look at the New Ceed yesterday. Very nice.

Yep, they certainly have upped their game over the last few years and hopefully can carry on in the right direction...

Still think they have plenty of work to do in order to turn the badge snobs views around, i got laughed at from someone at work for buying another Pro Ceed GT instead of an Audi or Mercedes ....

The newer GT's are a little disappointing in that they have the same engine as the current model's. Personally would have thought they might have pushed more out the engine or had something new to give that extra performance.

When the truth is that you should be laughing at him for dull, boring predictable car choices that show absolutely no imagination. I bet he has an iPhone too. Sheep.

I also find some of their range better looking than their German counterparts.

Sportage is nicer than X3/X5
Stinger nicer than a 3 series
Ceed nicer than an A Class or 1 Series

I'm not saying they're overall better cars, but they're not too far off.

These are starting to look really good value.

OK they never quite matched their contemporary road testers Golf GTI, Renaultsport Megane etc but not a pro_ceed GT can be had for half the price of equivalent age/mileage car.

Yeah, to be fair they was always seen as a warm hatch rather then hot.

Its the mixture of nice looks, semi decent performance and a decent amount of kit as standard that makes these stand out over others in it's class for me.

A colleague has the Ceed GT 5dr which I have taken for a short blast. I thought it was excellent and I wonder if you really need to spend the extra to go up to a Golf GTI et al. Lots of car for the money and it makes a pretty good noise too.

Does the crazy warranty transfer to you as well? Five or seven years from new?

Well had the car just over a month now and absolutely love it, was very well looked after by previous owner.
Miles ahead of Vauxhall's GTC in terms of build and equipment.. driving wise it's probably about on par.. the GTC was great to drive.

Nice car OP, always liked these and good value for money too considering what you get.

I appreciate that this is probably 'warm hatch' territory these days what with all the hyper hatches around now. But a good looking car.

Recaro seats look comfy smile

TO be fair, the Stinger is a good looking car and things like the A Class are rather boring to look at.

Other half has a Rio - drives great (steering is a bit light and lifeless to me, but I'm used to cars with much heavier steering - it's fine around town etc), has all the kit you want and (knock on wood) has been very reliable. Her personal view is actually to stay with Kia for the net car too.

Good looking car OP, more warm than hot but plenty quick enough anyway!

thanks, my dad has a 2014 Kia Sportage and he's had it from new and has never let him down and still looks and drives like new. It has held up rather well. This was one of the main reason's i started to look at Kia car's.

Surprises me still how much negativity Kia get from the badge snob's. Still get abuse from work mates because i never went "German" as they say.
