Just replaced the cigar lighter as the old one kept unscrewing itself and dropping inside the door (I use it for the battery conditioner). Now it’s not working 😡The side light on it comes on with the lights and if I move the positive from the side light to the heater element then the heat element works so the lighter itself is fine, just a fault on the positive to the heater element? Electrics not my strongest......any ideas.

Must admit that the same thing happened to me. I have wired the cigar lighter with the lamp, so now it works only if light is on (not a big deal because I'm often in a country where they have to be switch on in any occasion). But it's a quick and dirty solution.

Really not ideal as the wiring for that little bulb won't be designed to carry the sort of current that you (or a subsequent owner) might feasibly want to draw through the socket...
Plus it's no good for using to maintain the battery ...unless you leave the side lights on... silly

Found the problem......no.4 fuse. All sorted and working fine. Must have shorted it when swapping over the lighters.
