New car paint leaving in 40°F (5°C) weather!
Discussion
Hi guys,
I've just had a small paint repair done on my car. The paint went on earlier today and I've since collected the vehicle. Bodyshop has done a fab job from what I can tell. Looks to have been properly cured. They've used a 2 pack paint in solid white.
My question is - will it be ok to leave my car on my driveway (I don't have a garage) tonight as weather is going to be close to freezing here in the UK?
I know I'm probably being overly cautious, but don't want to endure any issues with the paint later down the line.
Will obviously look after the newly painted section as best I can by refraining from waxing etc until 90 days time.
Thanks,
Rob

i've been there, done that, and got the t shirt when it comes to paint and bodyshop issues in the last few years.
For the minute all you can really do is keep an eye on it over the next 3 months or so...car paint is like a very slowly developing polaroid, and problems can take a long time to show through.
it's a shame the weather isn't warmer, as it will take a lot longer for issues to show up, modern paint takes a long time to cure fully.
Just wash the car as normal after a couple weeks and keep an eye, and if you notice any issues, take it straight back to the bodyshop.

Thanks for your advice. I'll keep an eye on it. Again, as you say - you live and learn. I wanted to get the repair done to ensure it didn't rust (but in hindsight should maybe have waited till the nicer weather)
I went there on a recommendation and they have good reviews. So hopefully I'll be ok. Issue is, unless you have the whole process documented - you really don't know the true process they've taken.
