Ideal time to buy a 1 year old Velar
Discussion
Hello,
I'm in the market for a 2017 D300 HSE Range Rover Velar...expecting our first child in May, so have some time to purchase...the question is when is the best time to pull the trigger
a) In December when sales chaps are keen to meet their targets
b) In February so room could be made for the new '19 plates
c) In March once the '19 plates are out and my target car is officially 2 years old
Bonus points for how much wiggle room I have to haggle on cars which are marketed currently at £55,000.
Kind regards,
Future Daddy Cool

Haggle with Land Rover? No where near as much room as there is with the Germans. JLR seem happy to just let the cars sit on the lot until they eventually sell, no matter how long it takes.
I'd have thought the end of the Spring / Summer quarters are your best bet for a 4x4, not midwinter.

I’m not sure how much haggle room there would be on a car as you describe, but if you are going into a 2017 Velar you will find a lot of information here which will give you an idea of things to look out for. I’d be especially wary of a very low Milage vehicle as this might indicate it had spent a lot of time in the workshop...

BTW I have a 2018 Velar with the D 300 engine and so far (March 2018/6,500 miles) mine has been fine. But there’s definitely some lemons out there!

why the range rover? Any particular reason why set your heart on that car? Would you be open to other suggestions?
Sometimes you can get a better deal getting new, if financing, better finance deals on new cars too (generally).
Forums are your best bet - although you only hear the bad usually on forums and not the good.
Although having a quick look at Carwow £4.5k off roughly, £3200 on broadspeed brand new.
