Bikes you've always wanted to own?
Discussion
As the title - are there any bikes you've always wanted to own and, more importantly, got around to doing so?
I'm in the process of trying to purchase a Benelli Tornado TRE 900 from a very reputable specialist. I walked into a random garage looking to waste an hour before I had to be somewhere and it just happened to be a Benelli specialist who was in the process of restoring the above bike.
Ever since I first saw one I've wanted to own one at some point, despite the 6 or so well documented issues they suffer. I'm aware of 'never meet your heroes' but having done exactly that with a 675 Daytona, an M3 'evo' and an s2000 and having a ball figured what the hell!
Anyone else have a 'normal' (e.g. excluding a motogp or carbon framed hp4 etc) bike that they have an itch to own and haven't been able to shake it?

Ducati hypermotard, they just look like awesome fun to ride. Saw one in a local ducati dealership and had never really seen anything like it before.
4C8 R1. I did a few laps around silverstone on one and instantly fell in love with it. A road bike in red and white just looks “right” to me.

When does "always" start?
I "always" wanted to own 2002-2003 FireBlade 954RR. That is why I bought two of them, still have one.
I "always" wanted the Daytona 675 - got one.
I "always" want the Speed Triple RS - that is still outstanding.

Love mine

Great bike! Enjoy!
P.S. I would also prefer the black one.

I’d love an unmolested RC30 but they are seriously spendy.
Likewise an original FZR1000 Genesis because the 15yo me used to dream of owning one back in ‘87!

Seeing my first rc30 was love at first sight
Moto Martin CBX - I too went into Cobra Road and Racings shop in Kentish Town in early 81. An ex pal wanted to build one. On the wall was a huge poster of a silver CBX up on its rear wheel pulling a monster wheelie ) said to be Caldwell, Cobras founder )
They closed soon after for some reason. Mochech then became the Moto Martin agents.

He offered me a test ride, but I didn't fancy it in winter London traffic. I think they ended up in Cambridge for a while later on, they offered to sell my bike on sale or return, but I didn't fancy that either...They closed soon after for some reason. Mochech then became the Moto Martin agents.
Ha! I was going to start a thread like this yesterday! Kind of along the lines of 'what car have you been obsessing about' thread but for bikes.
Like you, the Benelli Tornado has been on my want list side I first saw one in a magazine (it was Top Gear) I must have been about 12.
For a couple of months I've wanted a Triumph Speed 4. Never knew they existed but I'm saving to do my DAS and none of the usual first big bikes tickle my fancy apart from this one.
