21:9 Tv or projector?
Discussion
Hi all, I'm looking at speccing out a cinema room at my house and wondered (as I'm 15-20 years out of touch!) what the latest thing to do is?
It will be just for films......are there still 21:9 Tvs out there? What are projectors like these days (you used to have to spend thousands to get a half decent brightness and it was huge!
Thanks for any advice!

Projectors have come on a long way!
An optoma HD27e for example will give you a 135" image that is pixel perfect, bright and beautiful ( what I have, but the older model). All for £550. Blows any smaller TV image out if the water on the basis of pure scale.
It's so good I am holding off an OLED until they are affordable at a minimum of 100".

I've found the Optoma DLP projectors to give a really filmic picture. I've just specced one of for a mate. He could have spent £1200 on a 4k PJ, but we discussed that the chance of him using 4k content is next to none for a long time, and if he does switch, it's only £500 odd quid down the drain if that time comes. Plus the 4k one didn't have the right throw distance / zoom.
Even with HD projectors like mine, you can't see pixels any more
