could you tell me the differences, if they exist, between an 14cux used in a chimaera 5.0l end the 14cux used in a 3.9 Rover, except the fuel map chip?

The only differences I believe are related to age rather than use. I believe some of the circuitry and chips were 'upgraded' over the years.
One of those changes being the memory chip being in a mount on later versions rather than soldered to the board.
Stand to be corrected.

Anything post about 1991- 92 will be compatible. If you try and mix and match the TVR chip with an early ECU the lambda control does not work correctly. Accurate identification can be done by looking at the chip set on the circuit boards

Do you know how TVR act to suppress the speed limit 114m/h specified by land rover (tyres speed limit)?

On Chim and Griff with the T5 gearbox, the signal is either 0mph or 30mph and not the real speed. So, as soon as the car is moving, the ECU receives 30mph.

You can also alter the data in the fuel chip. Lots of different maps and tunes available if you google "Steve Sprint 14CUX". I think the TVR chip does have the modification to prevent the speed limiter, apart from the hardware that frigs the speed reading.

All you need to know will be buried here somewhere:
