S2 indicator lens

So thinking that I probably know the answer to this; but does anyone know where I can get a replacement front indicator lens for my S2? Or can they be bespokely made?

BMW E30 lenses can work but a far easier and neater solution is the Nissan Terrano. Complete assembly fits and looks right, provide you fit a matched pair of course. The assembly is 'handed' but it doesn't matter on the S as the lens can be turned over. They are still coming up reasonably regularly on ebay. Price about £30 but that is for a complete unit so you get a new reflector and bulb holder as well. Here is one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-1-X-Nissan-terrano-...f:0

I got lucky on Ebay a couple of months ago, two good unused ones, a lightly busted one, and a various other bits for £20. Keep watching, they are out there!

The BMW and Nissan lenses look good but the only problem with these replacement lenses is that they don’t catch the edge of the rubber bumper strip the way the originals do.
I cut some broken indicator lenses down to fit inside the recess and then made covers with 5mm amber acrylic the same size and shape as the originals. They have passed 5 MOTs since and are still intact.

I've always thought the way the original lenses overlap the bumper and trim was a real bodge, but that's a neat way to keep the original looks.

I agree, but I couldn't think of a way to "finish off" the end of the rubber.

i supply these lenses new as per original: both in amber and clear transparent for use with amber bulbs.

Thanks all for feedback and links. I have managed to source an original pair, but given how fragile they are, this advice and info will more than likely help in the future.

Me neither - and I am glad to see the original style lamps being repaired so neatly.

Things have improved for S owners in the last 10 years or so with alternatives, plus that very neat acrylic work-around above (top marks!)

About 10 years ago I sold a pair of brand new boxed indicators on ebay and they eventually went for something like 270 pounds for the pair! It nearly got to the point at one stage where it was cheaper and easier/quicker to buy a complete Sherpa Van if it had good indicators on it!
