Hello All,

Wondering what your views where on a 2008/9 Merc CLC180 in terms of reliability?

I'll be putting nearly 3000miles a month on mostly motorway.

Thanks!

As I recall from my mechanically similar SLK 200 the main thing to be aware of is how rusty the rear subframe is, the powder coating wasn't very good.

As I recall from researching before buying mine, there were issues with the earlier engines. However the age your looking at are a revised spec. I ran an earlier sport coupe (220 CDi) for 70,000 miles with no mechanic issues. The only problem was just as I was selling it the mirrors got confused about folding.

The engine is a very reliable engine but when you're doing 3000 miles a month I'd say consider the 220cdi, also go for the Sport models as they come with the more supportive seating also the CLC180 makes the same power as the CLC220, the CLC200 makes more power but they're a bit harder
